Zygote Welcomes Jane A. Black as new Executive Director

Earlier this year, our dynamic and long-time Executive Director and co-founder, Liz Maugans, decided to step down from her leadership position at Zygote Press to pursue new artistic and personal goals. We are grateful for Liz’s vision and service as Executive Director.

After spending the last several months thoughtfully conducting a search for Zygote’s next leader, we are pleased to announce Zygote’s new Executive Director, Jane A. Black. Jane is a Dayton native, who is an independent curator and manages Build Art In LLC, the art consultancy business she founded in 2014. She will assume her duties with Zygote in January 2018. Before joining Zygote, Jane was the Associate Director at the Dayton Art Institute (DAI) from 2011 – 14, and served as Executive Director of the Dayton Visual Arts Center from 2003 to 2012. Please join us in welcoming Jane to Zygote and Cleveland!
