WIP — back by popular demand

Zygote Press has brought back our Works In Progress Program. Works In Progress (known as WIP) began in 2008 to give artists the opportunity to present and discuss their work with other artists and arts professionals. It is our intention that works can be discussed prior to being exhibited or otherwise presented to the public.

Rose Bouthillier with GelatinThe first WIP session is April 11, 2015 10am to noon with Rose Bouthillier, Associate Curator at MOCA Cleveland.

WIP sessions occur in an open and productive forum facilitated by individuals who are active in the regional art scene. Each session consists of 8 participating artists and an audience of community members—essential for artists who desire feedback, professional dialogue and advice. WIP is back, due to popular request, because there is rarely a forum for such stimulation outside the university experience and because artists need critical discourse as artwork is progressing in the studio.

WIP targets emerging, mid-career and established artists working in any visual medium to engage in critical discourse with peers and others involved in contemporary art making. Twice in 2015, Zygote will invite professionals in the field to facilitate these sessions.
