Internships

Zygote’s Internship Program is essential to our organization’s mission, and interns provide ideas and energy that are crucial to our success. Zygote’s internship program provides participants with fulfilling experiences that have led to positions as gallery directors, shop technicians, contract printers, resident artists and adjunct positions in schools and universities. Interns need no printmaking experience, but it is an added plus.

Zygote’s internship requires a commitment of at least 20 hours each month (pending on deadline-sensitive department needs), and interns work directly with a department to determine their schedule. Zygote internships are unpaid, but interns gain full access to the shop. Additionally, interns can elect to take classes at no cost (if space is available), and can participate in shop activities and special projects. Interns develop connections through networking opportunities and can participate in Zygote’s partnerships and community engagement initiatives.
