Ink-ling of Summer is Zygote’s festive summer night fundraiser that brings together art lovers and creatives for an exciting night to help increase equitable access to state-of-the-art printmaking facilities, and professional residency opportunities for Cleveland artists at all stages of their practice.
INK-LING OF SUMMER: A SOLSTICE BENEFIT
Wednesday, June 21, 5:30-Summer Solstice Sunset at Convivium33 Gallery
Ink-ling of Summer is Zygote’s annual summer benefit, celebrating Cleveland arts and raising funds to ensure access to affordable studio space, diverse printmaking residencies, multi-disciplinary exhibitions, and the continued existence of Zygote Press—the largest and only green printmaking organization between New York and Chicago!!
Join Zygote Press at the beautiful Convivium33 Gallery on Wednesday, June 21 from 5:30 to Solstice sunset for a night of food, drinks, music with Brittany ”Red-I” Benton, live art auction, prizes, art-making projects, and sneak peeks at exciting projects on the horizon! Enjoy divine and ample appetizers, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and Zygote’s signature S(z)angria, music and dancing, prizes, art-making activities, and a live auction of art by Zygote’s member artists. Convivium33 Gallery is located in the stunning St. Josaphat Parish Church, built in 1917 for the area’s original Polish community. Conveniently located only a few blocks from Zygote, this historic church was saved in 2002 and converted into an arts center.
You will spend the evening immersed in beautiful architecture and surrounded by the breathtaking art of our host, Giancarlo Calicchio, an internationally recognized sculptor. Catch up with old friends, make some new ones, and exchange ideas with people, who, like you, believe that art is an integral part of our community!
Show your love for Cleveland Arts and Zygote! Each $100 ticket is more than admission to a night of fun, food, music, live printmaking, and prizes. It is the much-needed support that allows Zygote to provide scholarships to the studio for under-resourced artists, to keep our access fees affordable for local area artists who rely of our facilities for their livelihood, and to support our internationally recognized Residency Programs. Last year, the Ink-ling of Summer Benefit raised nearly $15,000 toward supporting community programming, printmaking residencies, and affordable studio access. This year we have been awarded more than $50,000 in federal dollars to help us fund these programs, but we have to match these dollars with private support. With your help, we can make this happen!
