A LETTER FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Zygote Press Community,

As you know, the Biden Administration recently announced its intent to end the national emergency and public health emergency declarations on May 11, 2023, related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The CDC continues to offer guidance regarding the need to wear face coverings in public settings for protection against COVID-19, based on levels of infection by county.

In Cuyahoga County, most public venues no longer require visitors to wear a face covering inside their buildings. Effective March 20, 2023, Zygote will make face coverings optional. Like most local, regional and national arts organizations, Zygote has already implemented proof of vaccination requirements for all artists using the shop and everyone on our staff is fully vaccinated. We will continue to require proof of vaccination from teaching artists, interns, shop artists, artists in residence, and volunteers. However, we will no longer require proof of vaccination from workshop and event participants.

For Zygote’s community members who require additional safety measures, we will be happy to arrange studio hours when there are fewer artists in the space. Additionally, we ask that everyone continue to be mindful of the needs of your fellow Zygote members. We are a shared community space, and it is our mission to address the needs of all our artists. If an instructor or fellow artist asks you to wear a mask, please respect their request.

Zygote’s top priority is the safety and well-being of our visitors, volunteers, and staff. We are thrilled to see our membership growing and our workshops filled to capacity! As always, our team works hard to serve the community at the highest standard of arts excellence in our programs, residencies, and exhibitions.

If you have any questions, please email or call me at jfeldman@zygotepress.org / 216-621-2900 ext. 1.

As always, thank you, for your understanding and support.

Jackie Feldman

Executive Director
